Biography

Kai graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a bachelor’s in molecular medicine. During his final year thesis he researched the Establishment & Optimisation of a SARS-COV-2 Anti-N-Protein ELISA Assay. This gave him good experience in understanding process optimisation and experimental design validation. He then obtained an MSc from University College Dublin in Biotherapeutics & Business, where in he refined his understanding of bioprocesses involved in biopharmaceutical production. During this time, he also pursued a Six Sigma Green Belt, deepening his education on process refinement and optimisation. He hopes to apply this education in this PhD program to develop GMP-compliant, standard operating procedures to improve the commercial feasibility and clinical accessibility of cutting-edge biotherapeutics.
